Hot honey can be used in a variety of dishes.
Here are our top 10 favorite uses for hot honey...
-
Pizza - It's one of the most popular foods for hot honey. The saltiness of the cheese is balanced out with the sweetness of the honey. A little spice adds to the savoriness of your slice. Hit your pizza with a drizzle of honey. A little bit goes a long way.
-
Cheese - Much like pizza, the saltiness of the cheese balances nicely with the sweetness of the honey. Add it to your charcuterie board.
-
Breakfast Sandwiches - You can't go wrong hitting a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a little hot honey. It may even give you that extra 'kick' to wake you up in the morning.
-
Roasted Vegetables - Adding a little hot honey to your roasted vegetables after they are cooked can give them just to right amount of extra seasoning to make them delicious to even the most 'veggie-averse' eater.
-
Ice Cream - While this may not sound like a match, the contrast of heat and cold is a lot of fun. We recommend sticking to the basics... a generous scoop of fine vanilla ice cream with a thick drizzle of hot honey, to taste, of course.
-
Chicken & Waffles - In a dish that is traditionally a marriage of sweet and savory, hot honey fits right in. In fact, most chicken dishes can be a great spot for hot honey. Fried chicken, in particular, is excellent with hot honey.
-
BBQ - It is broad, but since there are lots of sweet sauces and rubs added to various BBQ'ed meats, hot honey can cover several bases. Make your own honey BBQ sauce with a kick, or simply drizzle some hot honey across ribs, chicken, or any other BBQ'ed entrees when you serve them.
-
Cheesecake - This is another sweet dish where a little spice turns it into a totally different experience. The tangy cream cheese is an excellent mate with the spice of the honey.
-
Greek Yogurt - Continuing the tangy flavors, next time you want greek yogurt and honey, give hot honey a try. You can even use the yogurt as a sauce, as it's done in many middle-eastern and Mediterranean cuisines.
-
Cocktails/Mocktails - You will thank us for this idea. There are a number of cocktails or mocktails out there that use honey, and possibly with the exception of a few, you will be making a great drink with the extra spice of hot honey. If the usual cocktails don't do it for you, try it out in your next Bloody Mary.
We hope you got some new ideas and
learned how versatile hot honey can be. Try some today!

STORING HONEY
Do not refrigerate your honey. Store it in the pantry or cupboard shelf in a warm place. To re-liquefy, place the jar in the warm sunshine, or crack the lid open and place in a pan of warm water (110-120 degrees F is about right). Your honey will magically turn back to a beautiful golden liquid and look like the day you bought it! With time, the honey will crystallize again, but reheating it with the same hot water bath technique will once again return it to a liquid form. Do not microwave your honey! It will destroy all the beneficial properties.
Honey will last for many many years as long as it doesn't have added moisture....if you don't eat it all up that is!DID YOU KNOW RAW HONEY WILL CRYSTALLIZE?
If you've never purchased raw honey before - you're in for a treat! Not only does it have superior taste and texture compared to the processed and pasteurized honey you may be familiar with, it also has a ton of healthy extras. Raw honey includes pollen, enzymes, minerals, and vitamins that naturally occurs in raw honey that are filtered out of processed honey.
A phenomenon unique to raw, unprocessed honey that some new customers are often unaware of is that it will crystallize over time - and that’s a good thing! Crystallization is actually nature's way of preserving the taste and quality of the honey over long periods of time. Crystallization is a spontaneous process where the natural sugars in honey (glucose and fructose) will bind together and begin to form little crystals which can make your honey thicker and harder. Sometimes this change happens quickly, and sometimes it takes longer. Temperature, humidity, exposure to sunlight, and other factors all influence when the process begins and how long it will take. It’s still perfectly safe to eat once it crystallizes, but it’s not as easy to use once it hardens.
